چکیده

UNLABELLED The evolutionary analysis of presence and absence profiles (phyletic patterns) is widely used in biology. It is assumed that the observed phyletic pattern is the result of gain and loss dynamics along a phylogenetic tree. Examples of characters that are represented by phyletic patterns include restriction sites, gene families, introns and indels, to name a few. Here, we present a user-friendly web server that accurately infers branch-specific and site-specific gain and loss events. The novel inference methodology is based on a stochastic mapping approach utilizing models that reliably capture the underlying evolutionary processes. A variety of features are available including the ability to analyze the data with various evolutionary models, to infer gain and loss events using either stochastic mapping or maximum parsimony, and to estimate gain and loss rates for each character analyzed. AVAILABILITY Freely available for use at http://gloome.tau.ac.il/.

Gain Scheduling Waste-gate Control of Turbocharger Using MATLAB & GT-POWER

Turbochargers are used to increase engine manifold air pressure. Control of intake manifold pressure is crucial issue which is done through the speed control of turbocharger, but since it is difficult to directly control the speed of the turbocharger, it is done indirectly through a gate that called the waste gate, which is located in the engine outlet and turbocharger’s turbine inlet. One of t...

Research of Intake Valve Deactivation on Engine Performance

In this paper, the effect of the Intake Valve Deactivation (IVDA) on engine performance is investigated in detail. Based on an optimization platform with Genetic Algorithm (GA) and engine thermodynamic model, the characteristics of the engine volumetric efficiency and pumping loss were studied under the cam-drive, Single Intake Valve (SIV) and Dual Intake Valves (DIV) operating modes, and the e...

Inference of Gain and Loss Events from Phyletic Patterns Using Stochastic Mapping and Maximum Parsimony—A Simulation Study

Bacterial evolution is characterized by frequent gain and loss events of gene families. These events can be inferred from phyletic pattern data-a compact representation of gene family repertoire across multiple genomes. The maximum parsimony paradigm is a classical and prevalent approach for the detection of gene family gains and losses mapped on specific branches. We and others have previously...

A New Hybrid Method for Web Pages Ranking in Search Engines

There are many algorithms for optimizing the search engine results, ranking takes place according to one or more parameters such as; Backward Links, Forward Links, Content, click through rate and etc. The quality and performance of these algorithms depend on the listed parameters. The ranking is one of the most important components of the search engine that represents the degree of the vitality...

Sensitivity analysis of dependency of working fluid thermo-dynamics properties to temperature on performance of Gama-type Stirling engine

This research proposes the effect of temperature variation in the Prandtl number on the power, the efficiency and the heat loss of the Gama-type Stirling engine. It should be noted that the Prandtl number included the viscosity, the thermal conductivity coefficient and the specific heat at constant pressures of the working fluid, which the temperature dependency of such first two thermo-dynamic...
